Abstract

Recover the concept of community as the starting point of the path to follow in pursuit of the construction of other sociability dynamics is in itself a emancipation practice. Historically, the social division that we have faced frames is not only in our social relations, but also the way in which we interpret realities and from which we are with the world. The Zapatista indigenous movement, through its discourse and its struggles, contributes in the construction of a social vision and reconfiguration, in which recognition and solidarity with plurality is the basis and foundation of the way in which the community lives. Although it is true that this does not mean that they do not face the challenges of a colonial past and present, it is precisely in struggle context where meanings and knowledge emerges that open the possibilities for deconstructing our colonized world conceptions to work on social transformation through the search for alternative realities united from the difference. This work is an theoretical reflection essay about the notion of community as a transforming principle that acquires special relevance when coming into contact with the discourse, values and thought-action of the Zapatista movement. To achieve this, on the onehand, some of the contributions of authors such as Boaventura de Sousa Santos, Claudia Salazar and Aníbal Quijano are taken up; as well as the Zapatista voices themselves. Likewise, special attention is paid to the European tour experience that this group undertook in 2021, mainly due to its great significant load and socio-cultural contribution to the present analysis.
